January 21, 2014

This week has been even better then the weeks prior. The baptism for the Wilsons was one of the best experiences of my life! The whole time a was smiling from ear to ear (which isn't my typical look which is something i could work on) but none the less i dont think i have even smiled that big for that long in my life. I truely do love the Wilsons with all my heart and they will always be special to me. The first family I've helped bring into the gospel and start the path to eternal life. It has been humbling to me to see how someone can jump into this gospel with so much faith and so much dedication.

I was also asked to give a talk at our mission conference this week and let me tell you what I was freaking out. I thought i was bad speaking in front of our ward, but it was a million times harder speaking in front of missionaries. Through that i have really had a humbling week. I had good material i feel but i am lacking that power and conviction i wish i could speak with. It will be a focus of mine now and also not just that but trying to strengthen all my weaknesses through the atonement of Christ.
I am learning so much and I never would've thought i would be helping to make an impact on peoples lives this quickly on my mission.

So I love you all and am thankful for all your support and your love. You are all in my thoughts and prayers and i hope everything is awesome back at home. Love ya and talk to you all next week.

January 13, 2014

This week has been very productive and exciting for me and Elder Collins. We have still been working closely with the Wilson family who will be getting baptized this Saturday at 11:00. They have been so incredible and their faith and readiness to follow the example of Christ has been inspiring. We have been doing a lot with the less-actives and part-member families in the area and doing all we can to help strengthen this ward and bring people come closer to Christ. We have already seen the affects of increasing our faith in finding. As we have fasted and prayed, worked hard and been obedient we have seen the lords hand in our efforts. This week alone as we have 2 new investigators that seem very promising. One is a Brazilian women who's english is not very good and she doesnt like speaking in english. So when she found out that we both speak Portuguese she was very excited. We also have been working closely with Brother Cottam who served his mission in brazil to involve the members and also start fellow shipping. We had our first real sit down lesson with her last night at the church and when we were done all she could say is how good she felt and how all her worries seemed to vanish while we were talking. I know the lord put us in Hagerman, but i had no clue it would be this obvious as to why. Only the lord could know that there was a Brazilian waiting for us here is Hagerman and to send two visa waiters to find her. This has really been a humbling and frankly awesome experience. I have given myself over to the lord and i know he can mold me into the man that he wants me to become to most effectively help his children. I have fallen short, i feel, to what he has expected me to become before my mission. With that said i have even more ground to make up while im here on my mission. I wouldve never expected that giving myself to the lord and his will and serving his children wouldve brought me this much happiness. Words cannot describe how content i am. Granted it isnt always a walk in a park all the time, but i am always so happy. Frankly i could careless about my visa unless thats where the lord really wants me. I would love nothing more then to stay here and serve the people of Idaho for the entirety of my mission. If it were up to me i would stay here in Hagerman for two years. I love it.

Mason told us he would need to perform an exorcism in his basement....That looks pretty accurate!
He got Christmas a little late, but he got our packages!
